  If you are a Christ follower without a home church in Bend please give Riverbend Church a try. My husband and I have only been attending since the end of summer 2023 but have had the warmest welcome we've ever had from a church.
  A significant percentage of the church is made up of young families but we oldsters have felt included right from the get-go.
  
  Those leading worship on Sunday mornings have avoided the trap of becoming "entertainers" and truly lead the congregation into the presence of God without hype. You can leave your ear plugs at the door. And guess what? You can actually hear the voices of the congregants all worshipping together.
  
  Pastor Andrew Rothrock is enthusiastic, and well informed. He is a brilliant, yet humble teacher of the word and his love and devotion to Jesus are contagious. If he's not there when you visit make sure you go back when he is. You'll be hooked.
  
  Another thing my husband and I were happy to discover is that there is a brief yet meaningful communion service every Sunday. It's not a quick "add on." It is an intentional time of remembering Christ Jesus and all he has done to reconcile us to our Heavenly Father.
  
  Maybe you're not "a believer" and you're just now thinking you might want to begin to investigate this whole "God business," and maybe have never even stepped foot inside a church, this is a place you can come with questions about anything and not have to worry about upsetting anyone. Talk to someone in leadership—Andrew, his wife, Grace, Katy, or Brittany. They'd love to meet you.
  
  There are lots of good churches in this city but I hope you'll try Riverbend. God bless you and guide you as you make your way toward a home church.
